Mae Ion age 92 formerly of Grand Forks, ND died peacefully surrounded by her family, on Tuesday, January 31, 2012 in Hudson, WI.  Mae was a long time member of Sharon Lutheran Church.  She was a wonderful seamstress and enjoyed quilting.  Family, baking and quilting were very important in Mae's life.  Mae is preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, Jack Ion; 4 sisters; 3 brothers; and daughter-in-law, Jan Ion.  She will be missed by her children, Phyllis (John) Stone of Palm Desert, CA, Joyce McCaffery of Poughkeepsie, NY, Jerry Ion of Hudson, WI; 7 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; brother, Glenn (Joanne) Fering of EGF, MN.  A graveside service will be held this summer at Memorial Park South Cemetery in Grand Forks.  Arrangements are with Bakken-Young Funeral & Cremation Services of Hudson.
