Darla Kay VanKirk (nee Clark) age 52 of New Richmond died Saturday, May 5, 2012 after a long, hard battle with cholangiocarcinoma (bile duct cancer). Darla was born the daughter of LaMont and Janice Clark on June 10, 1959.  She enjoyed hunting and fishing, crafts, sewing, and doing jigsaw puzzles.  Darla also liked to travel, hike, watch movies, and spend time with her family.  She is preceded in death by her father LaMont; Brothers, Robert and Thomas Clark; sister, Dawn Brown; and brother-in-law, Albert John Zinsmeister. Darla is survived by her mother, Janice Clark, Tomah, WI; sons, Matthew (Stacy) Gottbeheat, Camp Douglas, WI and Elliott VanKirk, Lannon, WI; grandchildren, Mitchell and Colin Gottbeheat; siblings, Steven (Alice) Clark, Winter, WI, Kathryn Zinsmeister, New Richmond, WI, Rosanne Quist, Stevens Point, WI, Anne (Joe Zimmermann) Quist, Winter, WI, Timothy (Jessica) Clark, Tomah, WI,  and Scott Clark, Tomah, WI; aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, grand nieces and nephews, and many friends.  A Memorial Service will be held on June 10th.  Detailed information can be found by going to Darla's Caring Bridge website at caringbridge.org/visit/darlavankirk.  Arrangements are with Bakken-Young Funeral & Cremation Services Beebe Chapel of New Richmond.
