H. Wayne Hoffman 7/3/2008
H. Wayne Hoffman, age 82 of Bloomington, MN and originally from Maiden Rock, WI died on Thursday, July 3, 2008 at the home of his birth in rural Maiden Rock.  He was born the son of John and Vivian (Adams) Hoffman on February 12, 1926 in rural Maiden Rock.  He graduated from the Maiden Rock High School with the class of 1940.  Wayne served in WWII in the Merchant Marines on a tanker ship delivering fuel to allied forces and later in the Army.  After returning from the war, Wayne attended Augsburg College for a short time.  He worked for the Milwaukee Road Railroad company, and in 1961 he began his career with the United States Post office at the main branch in downtown Minneapolis.  Wayne loved to dance and take walks, and was a huge sports fan.  He had a clever sense of humor, was a gentle soul, and will be greatly missed.  He is preceded in death by his parents, John and Vivian Hoffman; sister, Laura Nolan; and brothers, George, Clifford, Bob, and John Russell Hoffman.  Wayne is survived by his brother, Maurice Hoffman of Maiden Rock; sisters-in-law, Dorothy Hoffman of Maplewood, MN and Hannah Hoffman of Apple Valley; and many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.  A family memorial service will be held at a later date.  Arrangements are with Bakken-Young Funeral & Cremation Services of Maiden Rock.
