Paul S. Robinson age 55 of River Falls died unexpectedly on Wednesday, November 12, 2008 in Michigan, on his way home from Florida.  He was born the son of William and Bette (Jones) Robinson on March 23, 1953 in Minneapolis, MN.  Paul graduated from Bloomington-Kennedy High School in 1971.

 On September 22, 1984, he married Dianne Hansen at Trinity Lutheran Church in Waupaca, WI.   He attended UW-Stout and in 1981 graduated from UW-Superior with a degree in Psychology.  Paul later went to become a Physician Assistant at Kettering College in Ohio, graduating in 1990.  He then completed his Emergency Track Course work towards a Master’s Degree at Alderson-Broaddus College in 2001.  For seven years, Paul worked as a Physician Assistant at the River Falls Medical Clinic; while there he became involved with the River Falls Area Ambulance Service, volunteering his time as a Training Officer and then Medical Director.  Paul was a visionary, always encouraging the EMT's to be the best they could be in his typical encouraging, positive manner.  He was always generous with his time, often going on calls to see for himself the challenges EMT's faced in the field.   Recently he was working at St. John’s Hospital in Maplewood, MN.  Among others, Paul worked for St. Croix Orthopedics in Stillwater and Metropolitan Urologic Specialists in St. Paul.  He enjoyed hockey and reading and especially enjoyed quality time with his family.  Paul was an active member of the AAPA for almost 20 years.  He participated in the House of Delegates where he served 3 terms as Speaker of the House and was proud to have been elected AAPA President-elect in May.  Paul will be missed by his wife, Dianne; daughter, Amanda; son, Aaron; mother-in-law, Dorothy Hansen and other relatives and friends.  He is preceded in death by his parents, William and Bette Robinson; and father-in-law, Randolph Hansen.  A memorial service was held on Sunday, November 16, 2008 at 3:00 pm at the United Methodist Church in River Falls.  Memorial visitation was Saturday from 5-8 pm at Bakken-Young Funeral Home in River Falls and also Sunday from 2-3 pm before the service at the church.  In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred.  Arrangements were with Bakken-Young Funeral & Cremation Services of River Falls.
